The Seafood Festival - Harvest of the Coral Sea

This event is a joint initiative of the Port Douglas Commercial Fishing Industry and Marina Mirage Restaurants with invited restaurants participating.

It is held in late May on the last Sunday of the Carnivale weekend commencing about 10 a.m. and winding down at 4 p.m. Seafood booths are located across the boardwalk and visitors wander and sample seafood of their choice. Displays are staged to educate visitors about fishing and the sea in general.

A band entertains visitors from the back of a vessel moored in the Marina and fishing trawlers are on display.

The Port Douglas Commercial Fishing industry has donated thousands of dollars to local charities over the years of its invovlement in this Festival and this highlights the fishing industry theme "families catching fish for families"

Entry to the Extravaganza is free and visitors are welcome to wander among the booths buying what they like and see or just to wander amongst the shops inside the complex.

Marina Mirage Longest Lunch

This event is held late in May each year on a Friday from 12 noon to 3.30 p.m. and is limited to 250 guests only. It is a feast of fine dining and sampling fantastic wines.

It is hosted by La Marina, Fiorelli's and Hog's Breath Cafe. It features three courses with the focus on the tropics with wines to complement. There are musical interludes and fashions on display to help wile away the time.

This is one event that must not be missed.

Carols by Candlight

Held on Christmas Eve on the Boardwalk at Marina Mirage from 7 p.m. The Carols are staged by Ward Benedict Productions and take the form of a stage show followed by traditional carols. Santa always manages to make time to drop in and wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Entry is free and people are encouraged to bring a chair and site on the boardwalk taking the Carols in either on the big screen provided or near the stage. Restaurants book out early for this magnificent night and patrons are encouraged to book early is they wish to dine. Eggnog and other suitable Christmas Beverages are on sale around the boardwalk.
